"Dad what were you like in the 90`s"
For my five ! love you all with all my heart !
Any martial artist when they were young ever dream of finding a small gem of a dojo hidden in the inner city ???
Well today my little boy dream came true. My longest tenured Judo sensei Al Moreno invited me to Hiromitsu Dojo in Elizabeth @hiromitsdojo06 this morning and this little boys dream came true. I was sent back to my childhood and what my vision of Judo would be like.
Today`s training was old school judo and Sensei Hiromitsu himself made it a point to spend extra time with me to show me details I have never seen before.
Sensei Robles also gave me a live Randori match where he threw me around effortlessly.
Everyone at the school made the experience of what I always envisioned of humility, respect, technical, and hard nosed training.
Humbled and honor to have a dream come true. Thank you Sensei Hiromitsu and Sensei Robles for an unforgettable experience.
Also thank you Sensei Moreno for encouraging me to continue this journey.

Yesterday I was so glad to promote Leigh to the first rank of Grey belt. One of the best things about being the head instructor at the school is I get to see everyone`s day one class and see their growth and development. Seeing Leigh`s growth and how amazingly resilient he has been from day one is something I am very fortunate to witness !

This weekend I had the pleasure of promoting Madden to the second rank of Grey belt. This young man stays busy with other sports but makes sure his schedule stays open all year to train jiu jitsu and its great to see his technical ability continue to get better and better. Congratulations young man !

Such a joy when people surprise you and come through and train at the school. Today I had such an amazing surprise when my Godson @aidanc.davis stopped by and rolled with us.... Aiden wrestled at St Benedicts in High School and jumped right in and rolled with us at the school and gave us all a good roll !

Never knew how much I missed training with the old crew until I got back to killer Tuesdays.... it doesn`t get easier but it gets more fun with the old crew and all the new friends we are making ! Nothing better than being a student!

Heart is still so full. Yesterday I had the absolute honor and joy to promote my twins Justin and Jason to the rank of purple belts in jiu jitsu.
Justin and Jason were the reason I went back to jiu jitsu because at the age of five I enrolled them and I saw them working hard and decided I had to work hard alongside them.
Justin and Jason were also instrumental in me starting my own program as with them I had two built in skilled students that I could pair with any of my students including children.
